The Evial Pregnancy Test Strip is the simplest version of a pregnancy test.
A pregnancy test can provide reassurance when signs of pregnancy are suspected. A pulling sensation in the breasts and sudden nausea in the morning, as well as many other indications, can point to pregnancy. But no sign is as clear as the absence of menstruation. At the latest now it is time for a pregnancy test. The reliable Evial pregnancy test is easy, quick and hygienic to use. The result can be read clearly within five minutes. Simply hold the absorbent tip in the urine stream for a few seconds. After a short time, the result is already visible in the control window of the Evial pregnancy test. If two lines appear in the control window, the result is positive (pregnant), if one line appears, there is no pregnancy.
- The Evial pregnancy test is very sensitive and can be used as early as four days before the menstrual period is due.
- All Evial pregnancy tests are CE approved and registered with Swissmedic (Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products).
- The Evial pregnancy tests are over 99% reliable.
How does a pregnancy test work?
Pregnancy is detected at an early stage by the concentration of hCG (human chorionic gouadotropin) in the urine or blood. In pregnancy, hCG is produced first by the fertilised egg and later by the placenta. HCG prevents, among other things, the rejection of the uterine lining and the onset of menstruation.
A fertilized egg usually nests in the lining of the uterus 6-8 days before the period stops. At this time, tiny amounts of hCG are present in the mother's blood and urine. The concentration of hCG is initially very low, but it increases rapidly and predictably during the first weeks of pregnancy.
The pregnancy test contains antibodies that react to the hormone. When the urine comes into contact with the absorption wick, the urine pr obe is directed into the membrane by capillaries. When the hCG reaches the test area, a colored line appears. If this line is missing, the test result is negative. For control purposes, a coloured line appears in the control area, which shows ob that the pregnancy test was performed correctly
Positive pregnancy test
If you tested positive early before your expected menstrual period, take another pregnancy test 2 days after your expected menstrual period to confirm the result. At this time, the result of a urine test is most reliable. If the result is still positive, consult a doctor to confirm the pregnancy. Your doctor will advise you on how to proceed.
Negative pregnancy test
If you get a negative result, pregnancy has not yet been ruled out. The concentration of hCG in the urine may still be too low or the pregnancy test may have been carried out too early or incorrectly. A high number of bacteria in the urine or the egg not yet implanting could be other reasons for a false-negative result. If you suspect you are pregnant despite a negative pregnancy test (e.g. lack of menstruation), repeat the test after a few days.
